The ET and Futurescape 7th Responsible Business Rankings were released during the Economic Times SDGs Impact Summit 2020 and are based on the study of sustainability activities of India’s top companies. The 2020 edition of the ET SDG Impact Summit is based on the theme of ‘Reimagining Our Planet— Building Back Better’ and was held virtually on 29 September 2020. On the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, the summit saw top business leaders, academicians, policy-leaders and green champions deliberate on the relevance of SDGs at this inflection point along with the need for building a better planet with an inclusive approach.
Mr Dilip Gaur, MD Grasim Industries addressed the summit and highlighted the actives and initiatives undertaken over the years to become a sustainability leader. He informed that Grasim’s viscose sites in India are among the most water efficient sites and that Grasim Nagda would be world’s first Zero Liquid Discharge plant by 2021. The Nagda site already harvests 3 times water that it needs and the water stored at its reservoirs serve the need of over 3 lac people in 50 villages around the site.
